The SME lobby is great at trumpeting the fact that SMEs create two-thirds of the jobs in the US economy. But it is a classic lies, more lies and statistics.

The real statistic that we should care about is net job creation. And it turns out that SMEs are not the biggest job creators, they are the biggest job churners. SMEs in America destroy as many jobs per year as they create - for a net of zero.

The only kind of SME that is good for America in terms of economic impact is the SME that becomes big. Those are precious and rare - and help get SME net job creation up from negative to zero. Best, Roger
