Hi Jose. Clearly I come to the opposite conclusion so I don’t agree with your logic.

First, I have zero interest in those definitions of marketing and strategy. For strategy in particular, I am not interested in accepting the definition of two people that I have never even heard of.

The key to my point is strategy done well and marketing done well are converging.

You provide examples of them being done terribly.

For example, “marketing results are in the short term.” Yes, only if you are doing shitty marketing.

For example, “Marketing seeks to design and operate a solid value proposition.” That is mediocre marketing.

Then the last three points just state things about strategy, as if marketing is somehow terribly different. Marketing done well does all of those things.

So I am not compelled at all by your argument.
